Me, too, Juliana.

On this second day of 2007 my favorite passage is:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rev.21 Verses 1 to 4

[1] Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
[2] And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband;
[3] and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them;
[4] he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away." (RSV)

Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure;
wash me, make me whiter than snow.
Ps. 51:9

The Lord bless you and keep you!
The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace!
Num. 7:24-26

For Wisdom is mobile beyond all motion,
and she penetrates and pervades all things by reason of her purity.
For she is an aura of the might of God
and a pure effusion of the glory of the Almighty;
therefore nought that is sullied enters into her.
For she is the refulgence of eternal light,
the spotless mirror of the power of God,
the image of his goodness.
And she, who is one, can do all things,
and renews everything while herself perduring;
And passing into holy souls from age to age,
she produces friends of God and prophets.
Wis. 7:24-27

I love this one because it shows the love of the Father for his children as told us by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew.

"...for your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him." (Matt 6:8b)

It doesn't seem fair to narrow it down to one, but if I had to, the one scripture that seems to mean the most to me is John 1:14:

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth”

Blessings,

John

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Therefore I tell you, whatever things you ask for in prayer, believe that you shall receive them, and they shall come to you. - Mark 11.24, Confraternity version.

Thou dost keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee. Trust the Lord forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock. - Isaiah 26.3-4, RSV.

Hosea 6:6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,
and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

Deut 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Lev 19:18 " 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

These had been the center of the Messiah's ministry.
