Holy Resurrection Pilgrimage Photos from 1996

I recently came across these photos I had from a pilgrimage my family attended at Holy Resurrection Monastery from 1996 when it was in Newberry Springs, California. Included in these pictures are images of Metropolitan Judson and Bishop George Kuzma, of blessed memory.

My understanding was that the white klobuk was a gift of the monks at Holy Resurrection to Metropolitan Judson. We got to witness both him and Bishop George being vested. I don't know if Metropolitan Judson wore the white klobuk elsewhere.

I have to say that this particular pilgrimage was one of my most memorable.

I love the picture of Fr. Robert. I am seeing him tonight for marriage prep with my fiancee.

I was told there were problems with another bishop (not given to wearing eastern headress) afterwards when that bishop saw the photos. Something about him hitting the roof.

I had not heard that. If true, that's sad to hear of that reaction. From what I remember of the conversations at the pilgrimage about Metropolitan Judson wearing a white klobuk was all positive.

Nelson,

Congrats to both you and your fiancee. Please tell Fr. Robert hello for me. I have fond memories of when he served at St. Stephen in Phoenix shortly after he was ordained. For awhile he and Fr. John Bobankovich (not sure if I have the name right) served Liturgy together. Fr. John was one of the last married priests ordained before Cum Data Fuerit. It was something to see them celebrate together: a newly ordained priest and a priest who had served for 65 years.

Thanks for the clarification! I was privileged to attend the celebration for Fr. John's 65th wedding & ordination anniversary.
