Christ the Savior Cathedral (ACROD), Johnstown, PA

Christ the Savior Cathedral, American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the U.S.A.

Groundbreaking for the Cathedral took place on July 12, 1952 and construction began on July 14, 1952. The cornerstone was blessed by Bishop Orestes on October 5, 1952. The new Cathedral was completed within two years. It was dedicated by Bishop Orestes on May 30, 1954.

The American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese (ACROD) is under the canonical protection of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Thank you Neil, the secon shot is of my cousins son, he was ordained a deacon by +Metropolitian Nicholas in that shot, he is now a priest in the ACROD diocese, ya never know where my family will turn up, my tribe has someone all across the board! grin Thankfully, I am a Canon fool, you name it, I take that camera all over the world, just love to capture history on celuloid. shocked
