Christ is Born!
The following letter (see the last one) was published by the Washington Times:
http://www.washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20041220-083613-3596r.htm Did anyone else notice that any reference, no matter how passing, to "Christmas" and/or "Hanukkah" was studiously avoided by many places this year, esp. in stores and public places? My friends and I noticed this. Even my old apartment complex, famous for its huuuuge Christmas tree, didn't put any tree up at all this year. (They didn't put up the accompanying menorah, either, although they had done both for several years.) When I inquired, the concierge told me they were afraid to upset one or two people (6,000 or so live there) who write letters and complain to the management office about the display.
Please be sure that Christ stays in your Christmas celebration, as some of us wind down the Christmas season and others prepare for Christmas this Friday. If you don't already do so (I'm sure all of you do), please make sure you buy and send your friends of faith appropriate religious cards. Christmas is about the Nativity of Our Lord and not about cute little Hallmark "holiday" cats in Santa hats.
I wish you all a healthy and happy New Year, as well. I hope that some of you will be making it to DC for the March.
