I seem to be in agreement with all of you on this issue.
I do believe it is the American dollars brought by the mormons and the so-called American lifestyle brought by them that seems so attractive to Ukranians. The religion and lifestyle brought is intolerant and half-baked. Their founder Joseph Smith supposedly was communicating with the Arch Angel Gabriel who told him that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ appeared to American Indians thereby making these American Indians the Lost Tribe of Isreal. It all sounds too familiar regarding Protestant groups, the English Anglo-Saxons included who also at one point claimed to be the Lost Tribe of Isreal. But who, thank God dropped this notion from there Anglican religion.
I believe for better or worse, the religion for Ukranians is found in Kiev.
