If Alex is serious about me being a Catholicos, then I have incurred more canonical penalties than most people could hope for, what with not having Holy Orders, having a girlfriend, etc. wink I am Indian, but the only difference is in jurisdiction since the rite is nearly identical to that of the Syrians (only a few inculturated elements here and there). In fact, we practice the Syrian rite better than they do, since they've lost this or that tradition here and there.

I was brought up as a Roman Catholic, however my leanings and ideas have been Byzantine / Orthodox for last 5 years or so.The Roman Church has changed too much in my eyes, especially in the 70'S and 80'S,trying to compete with the new Christian movement which was attracting the youth.

It took a couple of days to adapt to the reverse sign of the cross.

Dear Ghazar,

Who is fooling around? smile

Catholicos (Qathuliqa) Mor Ephrem was duly and canonically consecrated such by me over the internet and better than most vagante internet churches.

For one thing, I, at least, don't blow air into a bottle and then charge postage to send it to a future bishop or archimandrite!

No, that is disgusting and unApostolic . . .

Mor Ephrem was properly consecrated by not one, but THREE clicks of his mouse, as he lowered his head before his computer screen, repeating the words of Consecration, as I provided them.

His Catholical colours are purple, green and gold and his titular See is in New Orleans, with immediate and direct jurisdiction over Louisiana and the entire South.

As he has a girlfriend etc., it is clear that Mor Ephrem has opted to follow the autocephalous Kyivan Canons of 1921 . . . wink

Der Alex,

Sorry, I should've never doubted your veracity, integrity or seriousity. smile Btw, did I mention I finally got around to placing my order? Your Armenian Book of Hours is "good as gotten," now. You might need to re-send your address to me, though. I'll send you my email address in a private message. Or you can just send me your home address in a private message if you like.

Talk to you soon...

Dear Ghazar,

You are too kind!

I appreciate your website which contains such wonderful information - especially about the venerable Armenian heritage.

Did you know that the Ukrainian tradition has historically ALWAYS venerated the Saints of Armenia and all Saints of the Caucusus area?

Ukraine has had its Armenian community and a friend of my family's, Myron Potopnyk (+memory eternal) was writing a history of them.

God bless,

Alex
