There is a prophecy given by Father Paisios.

"The great ones may have their own plans and interests, financial and political, but through them God is revealing and promoting the divine plan."

It would be wise for ALL Christian countries NOT to join to the European Union (or to withdraw if already a member). The EU is a building block to an anti-Christian global government. If I were a Greek citizen, I would lobby for Greece to withdraw from EU, and give it's seat to Turkey (I say this somewhat sarcastically, not having much use for the Turks). You may remember that, within the last year or so, both the Pope and the Patriarch of Constantinople (not Istanbul) appealed to the EU to give official recognition to the Christian patrimony of Europe, and this request was rejected by EU leadership. Now, the EU is dictating to member nations that they MUST facilitate the easy travel, and other legal favors extended to "same sex couples" by their home member-nations. It's easy to see where this is leading, and that is definitely not in a Christian direction.

I remember a matushka forewarding me a petition to sign requesting the EU to require Turkey to give St. Sophia back to the Orthodox before being allowed to join. Anyone else seen/signed that petition?

Do some prophecies of Father Paisios and St Kosmas of Aitolia imply that Turkey will take heavy damage and causalties so that Greece will push forward. If not, then forgive my sillyness, I must have misread books. If they do, I doubt God would ever hold anything against Turkey. Turks are lovely people, better than us Greeks at some points. I cannot believe or admit that Turkey has done anything wrong. The Turks were at the right place in the right time to take over an empire that was falling apart. They did what every other nation of this world would do.
