Syria in general tends to be a place of inter-religious peace, thank God. Damascus is a remarkably city, with a great richness in Christian pluralism (the Orthodox Cathedral and the Greek-Catholic Cathedral are a 5-minute walk from each other, and almost all the other Eastern Churches are represented. If one leaves Damascus to the North, one finds many historic and lovely monasteries).
