I hope this is the right forum. I have the opportunity to tour medieval monasteries in Georgia. I know very little about the Georgian Orthodox Church, and if anyone out there could direct me to a good website I'd appreciate it. Is there anything important about this church that I should know before going? As of right now, there is still room on the tour if anyone would like to go.

Dear Lasha,

This may be of some help in giving you some background on the Patriarchate of Georgia. It is the official church website.

Georgian Patriarchate Website [patriarchate.ge]

I hope this helps and that you enjoy your trip.

Here is the website for the tour:

www.villageharmony.org/monasticism/ [villageharmony.org]

The page didn't work when I just tried it; if it doesn't work let me know, I have it on e-mail form. At any rate, the guy to get in touch with is John Graham; jagraham@wesleyan.edu

Great tour. You will no doubt have much to tell us when you get back.
