Almost all of the statements that Lida cites seem to be comments made by the various Popes to *describe* Church dogmas, rather than the dogmas themselves.
When Pope Gregory XVI, in Summo lugiter Studio 1832, said "11. 'Outside the Catholic Church, there is no true worship of God.' ", he was interpreting a dogma of the Church (the famous "outside the Church there is no salvation").
Pope Gregory's statement, then, is a conclusion which he drew from the dogma, but it is NOT the dogma itself. And as Amadeus wisely points out, Popes in recent years, particularly John Paul II, have drawn somewhat different conclusions from the same dogma.

Lida, Ah, yes, weve seen this before. You feel that you are 100% right about Catholic Teaching and Pope John Paul the Great and the collected teaching of the Church is 100% wrong. The problem with your 64 points is that they are all one line quotes. Each is suggestive yet each must be understood in context (and youve offered absolutely not context). I highly recommend that you read Pope John Paul the Greats encyclical Ut Unum Sint [ vatican.va] and his apostolic letter Orientale Lumen [ vatican.va] and read them with the intent of learning the mind of the Catholic Church instead of looking for proof quotes for your personal theological position. The late atheist Madeline Murray OHare used to go around quoting the Bible as saying there is no God. And she was absolutely correct those words can be found there. They can actually be found twice in Psalm 13:1 LXX (14:1 in most Bibles) and 52:1 LXX (53:1 in most Bibles)!! But they cant be used to prove as fact that there is no God. They need to be taken within the context of the entire psalm. But even looking at the whole verse gives us enough understanding to see that OHare had rejected the real context. The whole verse reads: The fool says in his heart: There is no God above. What you are doing is no different. What you are posting is not accurate Catholic Teaching but merely your opinion. But I understand that you know Catholic Teaching much better then the popes themselves. Admin

Lida 52. 'Non-Catholic worship is a disgrace and is forbidden.' POpe Clement V in Council of Sens 1141 I think you have forgotten something here - The Divine Liturgy of Our Father Among the Saints John Chrysostom - used by Catholics and heretics So now what is your definition of 'Catholic Worship"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't one become a heretic if they deny even one ounce of Catholic Dogma, like the filioque, ... ??? Dear Lida, I regret to inform you that the gates of hell prevailed against Christ's Church ages ago. 1) The Union of Brest did not require of us the insertion of the filioque2) The Vatican has published official liturgical books without the filioque3) The previous Pope publically recited the Creed without the filioque. The end is nigh! Σώσον, Κύριε, καί διαφύλαξον ηάς από τών Βασιλιάνικων τάξεων!

Yup, as you can surmise by my postings, most of you are in big doo-doo...with that in mind, believe me, I realize the fact that I get in some big doo-doo, too, but for different reasons...the difference is, I remain in Her Bosom at all times... yup, I do need a big rest...but I did this for the forum's benefit, not my own...God knows the condition of my heart... I do not mention anything post-Vatican II because there is too much evidence that the smoke of Satan entered into Her at that point in time ... this is what I believe Our Lady of Fatima was talking about... but you all have your own Free Will to believe what you want, right? The fact remains that the clergy have alot to answer to on their particular judgement, more than I will...I'll tell you this though, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes if they continue to subscribe to false ecumenism...that's why I hesitate to call JPII - Great. But that's a whole 'nother topic for another day However, the Church remains spotless and without wrinkle...regardless of its infiltrators and godless men... Now, if you all excuse me...i'm going to take a swim at the clubhouse. Be of good cheer everyone and pray for God to not only grant us all the actual graces we need, but to cooperate with Him, so that we may gain our eternal reward... Slava Icycy Xpecty!

Lida,
You have been advised to follow the rules of conduct for using this forum. If you continue to use deragatory comments about the spiritual state of posters, or teach doctrine that is contrary to that of the church by imposing your spin on it, you will be timed out. I have already warned you via PM. This is the second warning.

Everyone,
It is with a heavy heart that I feel that this thread has run its course and that all of the posts in the past day or so have been focused on one poster.
Therefore I am closing this thread, and if certain points are to be continued, let it be on a new thread. Meanwhile other matters must be addressed.
