Does anyone know the web address for the Melkites in the USA?

I have a friend who is interested in learning more about them.

Thanks.

P.S. I"m not sure if this is in the right forum, so if it isn't, could a mod please move this for me.

I don't really know anything as I am not Melkite. But I did find this which seems to be the official website of the Melkite Eparchy of Newton... others can confirm what this means exactly, but it seems like a good starting place at least. http://www.melkite.org/

Apart from that, your friend would probably do very well to start here as there are many very knowledgeable Eastern Catholics here who would be able to answer your friend's questions very well, or at least direct you where needed.

I saw (read) Neil just the other day in another Forum we both frequent.

He must be resting after attending/celebrating the 2005 edition of the Boston "Tea" Party! biggrin

Neil is in Austria, participating in a solemn Retreat and venerating the relics of Saint Melk, Founder of the Melkites.

Elizabeth,

The website that John provided is indeed the eparchial site.

John,

Feel free to embarrass me here; the rest of them obviously do

Btw, you and Elizabeth Maria may not realize it, but you know each other from TAW biggrin

Going back into hiding now, because I'm working on a critical document for a special person's quest (that'll keep them all guessing :p ) - should resurface in a day or so.

Many years,

Neil (can't hide from Amado, no matter where I go cool - he's works for "the Company", I just know he does eek )

Elizabeth,

If there's any info your friend needs, beyond what's on the website, just post or pm me.

Even though I've been scarce here these past couple of weeks, I try to check at least daily (have to, if I want to keep up my rep for posting almost any website that anyone ever dreamed they might want - no matter how strange).

Many years,

Neil

No, he wasn't visiting the remains of St. Melk, he was off on an off-shore fishing trip with the King of the Ruthenians and the Lord Prince of the Rusyns, high commander of the Galacian Seas.

We should get a commission out on this Akathistos.

Point to ponder: do good, faithful, God-pleasing Irish Melkites go to Mayo when they die?

Incognitus,

Only those not blessed enough to go to Donegal biggrin

Many years,

Neil, who admits to loving the wild beauty of Mayo
