Dear, in Christ,
May I draw your attention to an English translation of a french article by Mere Eliane (superior of the Byzantine Catholic Carmelite Monastery in Romania). Mere Eliane is a nun of the Byzantine Catholic Carmelite Monastery of Saint Remy, in France, and has written beautifully about Mother Elizabeth.
Mother Elizabeth was a nun of the Nancy Carmel, but went as a missionary-contemplative to China between the Wars. When all the religious were imprisoned after the war, this confessor (with other foreign born religious) was eventually expelled from China, and returned to France, where she was inspired by the Council (Vat II) to pray for Church unity, and so founded a Carmel at Saint Remy, given to worship and prayer in the Byzantine Church.
