When a young minister was still single, he preached a sermon he entitled, "Rules for Raising Children." After he got married and had children of his own, he changed the title of the sermon to "Suggestions for Raising Children." When his children got to be teenagers, he stopped preaching on that subject altogether. Rev. Bernard Brunsting

hehehe Of course, the minister could have just asked the teenagers for the answers. They know everything, anyway - just ask one if you don't believe that.

Speaking of humor, I recall an experience that has stayed with me all these many years. As a boy of 8 or 9 years of age, I was holding onto my dear grandmother's hand as we came out of church Easter Sunday morning after a 3 1/2 hour Resurrection Service and Divine Liturgy. Of course, during those 3+ hours we heard and sang "Christos Voskres" 100 or more times. Anyway, my Grandma's friend greeted her with "Christos Voskres, Maria", to which my Grandma responded in Ukrainian: "Zosia, Ya Znayu" ["Sophie,I know"]. Well, needless to say, my Grandma immediately apologized for what she thought was her irreverence, but everyone around us found humor in that response and no irreverence as it came from the mouth of a deeply religious and highly esteemed woman. My deep appreciation for my Ukrainian Catholic heritage is due in great measure to my beloved Grandma [Babcia]. Vichnaya Yeyee Pamyat, U Sviateme Upokoy Christe!

Pani Rose: I'm glad you enjoyed the story. My Babcia was a very special lady. She came to America from Zaluzha, Western Ukraine in her late teens and settled in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She was adored by her family, friends and fellow parishioners. We miss her terribly, but know we will be together again. Knowing her, she'll probably ask: "What took you so long?" Christos Voskres Babcia! Christos Voskres Pani Rose! Sincerely, Pavloosh
