CIX!

Maybe this needs to go under "East-N-East."

According to an announcement on a recent Carpatho-Rusyn Radio program Carpatho-Rusyn Radio [c-rs.org] the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese of the USA ("Johnstown Diocese"), during its upcoming Summer Pilgrimage at Camp Nazareth, Mercer, Pa., will be honoring Carpatho-Rusyn saints. Included in the cermonies will be the honoring of Greek Catholic Martyr-Bishops Paul Gojdich and Theodore Romzha of blessed memory. An invitation was made for "Greek Catholics" to attend "to share this day of common history."

...One small step (among many that need to be made). Curious if any clergy will be in attendance from P'gh. Metropolia.

My 2 Cents: Efforts to grow and evangelize the Ruthenian Church can not take place outside or independent of efforts to reconcile and bring into full communion these unfortunately separated children of God.

They have been invited, don't know if any will be attending.

Clarification:

After I reread my posting I realized my words, "unfortunately separated children of God" might be taken the wrong way. Someone could conclude that I meant that it was the good folks of the ACRO Diocese who were the unfortunately separted children and needed to return the fold. What I meant was that it is unfortunate that both groups are separated from each other and that action on both sides is required to bring us back together.

Again, my apologies to anyone I may have offended.

Dear Carpatho-Rusyn Brothers,

I don't understand - you mean that BOTH Orthodox and GC Rusyn saints will be honoured?

In a word, yes. The ACROD recognizes the terror that the Soviet Communists inflicted upon both the Orthodox and Greek Catholic Churches of Carpatho-Rus'.

Dear Nestor,

What about St Alexius of Carpatho-Rus'?

And also there were two servants of Sts. Boris and Hlib, one of them was St George the Hungarian and the other St Ephrem of Novotorzhok - both of whom have traditionally been honoured as Carpatho-Rusyn saints.

Dear Professor Alex,
Good questions, I am sure. Perhaps I should have noted that I was merely posting the list as shown in Metropolitan Nicholas's proclamation as distributed in church at Pentecost 2005 .
