Aloha everyone...

I think that they really need to live with thier vow of silence. It is pretty disturbing that someone cannot just close thier....... ( ) , you know what I mean. It is not fair to other
electors who are faithfully living thier vows.

Italians continue to ignore rule of silence as rumors fly According to another story, the Ratzinger faction has amassed at least 50 votes and would have several more if he promised certain Italian cardinals major curial jobs. Another story says that if he is not elected tonight, Ratzinger will withdraw as a candidate. Health dossiers are allegedly being circulated about Cardinal Angelo Scola's depression and the poor health of Cardinal Angelo Sodano and the diabetes of another cardinal -- by their enemies, of course. Still another story reports that the American and German cardinals have vetoed the Ratzinger candidacy.

I havent read the article (though I intend to), however I think Randy that you should not be so rash in judging the veracity of these claims. At 4:30 UK time today I watched the college of Cardinal electors process in, place their hands on the open gospel and swear themselves to secrecy before God beneath the portrait of the Last Judgement--a reminder of the punishment to await liars on the Day of the Lord. Thus, if these accusations are to be believed they are not merely a cause of sorrow but of scandal. A cardinal who broke his vow, nevermind for something so light as a media interview, would show himself to have no respect for the integrity of Sacred Scripture and no fear of the final judgement.

One would have to wonder what such a man was doing in the Conclave...

I suggest you ignore such things.

You have no way of knowing if any of this is true.

Newspaper people have been known to invent stories, you know.

Having read this article I apologise for being rash with my own assumptions. Since you were speaking about the pre-conclave personal vows to secrecy rather than the now in place formal vow of secrecy.

My apologies biggrin

Still, listen to Pseudo-A. No matter whats going on ultimately God's will is going to win out.

Greeley is a novelist first.

A Priest?, I have sever reservations.

Pravda has the same credibility factor IMO.

His novels tend toward the blasphemous in a few ways...I read one where he continually refers to the Holy Spirit as "she".

Gaudior, who is still appalled by this..

Odd, that was not something I had noticed in his books...but I admit to not having read all of them.

Gaudior, perplexed.

Well , I have read couple of his book. I was much younger when I first read his book . The covers is very seductive ...mostly with religious symbolism.... and very rebellious in nature. The contain of the books can be Hollywood sitcom or showtime cable movies. I think that if you are not careful reading it ...you assume that his book is non-fiction. I think that he has been using his personal experience in his book and turn it into fiction.
But, you know...many of his book was in best sellers list. I wonder why...

There was a book about priest having an affair etc etc etc... oh well.

Randy,

Your comments are outrageous. How dare you make such a statement on this Forum? I note that the Administrator has counseled you previously about the tenor of your comments, but you obviously haven`t paid any attention to him.

I find your presence becoming increasingly disruptive and I hope that the Administrator will take appropriate action.

Peace,

Charles

I have asked Randy on several occasions to adhere to the rule of charity. Each time he has promised to be more charitable with his posts but then with the very next posts he again violates the rule of charity. In this thread Randy deliberately makes an accusation against a priest and provides no evidence to support his accusation. It is immoral to accuse someone falsely.

Randy has earned himself a time out.
