Hi!
I'm a Roman Catholic from Slidell LA.
Tomorrow I'm attending a Byzantine Church for Divine Liturgy. It is St Nicholas of Myra in New Orleans. If anyone attends there, please look out for me- I'll be the one that looks lost smile

I found this forum by chance through a search of Eastern Catholic churches. I love the liturgy of the Eastern Rites. So beautiful and reverant.

I'll post questions from time to time. I have much to ask.

Do you have problems with political correctness seeping into your CHurch? Into the Divine Liturgy like in the Roman Catholic churches in the U.S.?

No.

and I am Roman Catholic also.

There are no political things going on here in New England. Mass is reverant and proper. My local church today (Sunday) has so many peole that they use four Ehucharistic ministers (plus the priest) with one half way down the center isle. Otherwise communion would take 20 minutes. And we all stand silent untill the priest has processioned out.

Sorry to hear there have been questionable pratices in your neck of the woods. It is a big world - what you may find happening in your local RC churches is not nessesarily wide spread.

And, welcome to the forum - and welcome to the Byzantine expereince.

Welcome to our happy Church - and good luck in coping with us!
