Dear Friends,

If one were going to build an 8 foot high Orthodox Cross with slanted foot-rest, what would be an example of some dimensions one could follow in its construction?

Alex,

I've put together a dimensioned sketch of a typical three-bar cross. I assumed an 8'-0" overall height, as you stated, and worked it up based on the scale and proportions you'd find present in the three-bar cross as typically seen inscribed within the St. Olga's Cross.

I'll be happy to fax the sketch over to you if you PM me with a fax number.

Dear Al,

Actually, it's for someone who e-mailed me . . .

If you are agreeable, I'll put David in touch with you!

Thank you for your kindness, Sir!

If the Icon of Our Lord is say, 6 feet tall, then the long cross bar has to be a bit longer to be proportional to the body. The span of one's outstretched arms are about the same measurement as one's height.

Dear Orthodox Catholic,

You Posted,
"If one were going to build an 8 foot high Orthodox Cross with slanted foot-rest, what would be an example of some dimensions one could follow in its construction?"

How could you dare call yourself "Orthodox Catholic" if you don't even know and proclaim that a Slanted Orthodox Cross has 2 DIMENSIONS! biggrin biggrin biggrin

As opposed to 1 or 3 dimensions that is. wink
biggrin biggrin
