Is there anything in Scripture about the Byzantine Cause?

Just wondering.

Dear LT

I think you will really have to try a Concordance

Yes. Saint Paul teaches us to honor the King, and to make supplication for the King. The King in question is the Roman Emperor - meaning in these latter times the Byzantine Emperor. Blessed Constantine XI, Athanatos, pray for us!

Who needs a Concordance when Incognitus is here?!

Gaudior, grateful for answers

Thanks for Gaudior's appreciated compliment. But in this instance, one could equally well ask "who needs incognitus when BibleWorks is here?" It's a great program.

Didn't our brother Incognitus once claim computer illiteracy? Seems he got religion, so to speak :p

Slava Isusu Christu!

I am almost speechless. Well, I suppose we should give the kid some credit for such great aspirations wink However, the rise of Islam would not permit the Emperor-to-be from assuming his throne along with the EU and many health care agencies smile Islam is the last religion that has actual temporal power aside from merely influencing politics and officialdom. I am afraid our Golden Age is past frown

Kudos.

Alas, I am indeed computer-illiterate. But some programs are suitable even for dolts such as myself. I recommend BibleWorks if your computer is a PC - there's a better one for Mac, but I forget the name.

Dear Friends,

Well, I find it less troubling to accept a "Byzantine Cause" than the fact that we have RC posters here who believe the Eastern Churches prior to 1054 AD were under the immediate jurisdiction of the Pope of Rome! wink

If that were true, the Orthodox really ARE schismatics! smile

Let's get back to the Emperor - and the chocolates. Come to think of it, perhaps the Emperor could restore the byzant - but fill it with high-quality Belgian chocolate.

Would the 200+ references in the Divine Liturgy be any help to the Byzantine Cause? For sure we are Biblical in our worship! wink

Here is something for the cause.

"...wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage."
Mt. 2:2 NRSV (Catholic Version)

And wise men(and women) from the East still pay Him homage.

Porter smile
