Dear Alex,

When my husband first got the Catechism of the Catholic Church, I couldn't understand why he carried it around with him all the time...

Finally, a couple of years later, I looked something up in it, and I couldn't put it down! I always thought of the Catechism as a reference source, like a dictionary or encyclopedia. But after actually reading parts of it, I find it quite fascinating! I love reading a whole chapter at a time!

So I'm not surprised your niece is enjoying it.

Dear Tammy,

Your husband is of Celtic background, is he not?

The Celtic monks used to carry their scriptures with them everywhere they went and constantly read from them.

Perhaps there is that too? smile

Say hello to him for me!

Dear Alex,

Oh, yes, he brings the Bible with him everywhere too! Do you suppose it's in the genes?

I'll tell him you said 'hi'.

I ws serching though the attic and found a copy of The Baltimore Catecism that the nuns had us learn from in early grade school. I started looking for it again.. Sinple, easily undertood description of the basic teachings of the church I read from it for monthe and wandt to find it again. At a prayer frpup once, the maderator gave everyone a f4th grade religion class test. TA lot of us who went to Catholic School and jesuit Colleges to strudy theology failed Hmmn Sonmething about back to basics. He was alsdo theated with physical harm if he tried that stunt to embarras us college grads afain. No knowing as much as a 4th grader. Keep wup the good work with your ?Catecism. Best regards Cliff biggrin

Dear Cliff,

Thank you - and may God bless you richly at the start of the New Year!
