Dear Cantor Joseph,

I will!

Today is truly "Bright Thur's Day!"

For some at least . . .

Tell us what they say. I want to know if they have room for you. If so, can I take your class? I will bring with me oodles and oodles of questions.

I am very interested in the diaconte. The problem is that I had no bishop to guide me and soon we will in Chicago. I still have to finish college. I am majoring in Theology (Its called Catholic Studies which include philosophy among other things.) and Poli SCi. When I get out I would like to start the Process.

Dear Cantor Joseph,

I forgot to add "I will, if my wife blesses me to."

I never do anything without her blessing, you know . . .

Dear Joe,

The eparchy to which Diak refers is, indeed, St Josaphat's.

This is very welcome news to our Church, and a tribute to much hard work at the seminary. I believe that our seminary programme is a very good one, and its recognition by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is much deserved.

In this current age, I believe that prospective theologians and candidates for the ministry do consider carefully where they wish to study. It is not enough to have a good programme and a well qualified faculty. Investing time and effort into study, candidates expect that they will receive a recognized degree for their work.

For myself, I am so grateful to those who have prayed and worked so hard to accomplish this state recognition.

Do they have any sort of distance learning program?

Or maybe it's called correspondence courses?

Dear Monasticbeginner,

First of all, I join with others in praying for your difficulties with your cell!

Secondly, "long distance learning" is certainly not "correspondence courses."

The former is really the wave of the future, uses computer technology and is really and truly wonderful!

Of course, not being in the seminary is to lose out on the spiritual life shared in common there and on priestly altar training that one has an opportunity to observe at close range.
