I ask your prayers for Florence Smith. She was the mother of a good friend, Father Archimandrite and Protopresbyter Alexei Smith, pastor of both Saint Andrew's Russian Greek-Catholic Church and Saint Paul's Melkite Greek-Catholic Mission in El Segundo, CA. She reposed in late February, but I only heard of it today.

O Lord, receive the soul of Your handmaiden, Florence, who has departed from this earthly place to repose in Your Bosom; lead her soul to rest in a place of light, happiness, and peace, where there is neither pain nor suffering, neither grief nor sighing, but only life everlasting. And as You are a gracious God and the Lover of Mankind, forgive her every sin she has committed by thought, or word, or deed, for there is not a man who lives and does not sin, for You alone are without sin and You are the Resurrection and the Life.

May her memory be eternal.

I am at work right now in a small town hospital. About an hour ago a patient came in to see me. She was one of those patients who "there was just something about". When she left, she left you with a good feeling. I found it ironic reading this posting right now and wanted to share with you the wonderful feeling this patient gave me. Have you guessed it? The patient I just seen shared the same name as your friend. Prayers for our sister in Christ Florence. Eternal Memory
