I have heard from elswhere that he is not at all well .
I quote from a message relayed from him
<"Just started intensive treatment for pneumonia, which took several weeks in being correctly diagnosed. Indeed, I am now too weak to continue further and must sign off. >
Please remember him in your prayers

Amen! Let us remember him in prayer that he will soon be well! Coalesco, if you're 'out there,' what does 'senex' mean? Sorry to keep asking these questions...! C of S

May the Lord lay His healing finger on our brother Orthodox East. May he soon find the strength to rejoin us!
Does anyone know how he is doing?
CoS,
In latin senex means an older person, kinda like a venerated old codger. Is that what you were asking? I've been called worse!

I have read a message from OE this evening [ my time of course ] and I don't think he will object to me copying parts of it [ I hope] I have had to forgoe attendance at Divine Services for three weeks now (including this weekend), and that is a real bummer! Father Michael has offered to come visit me twice, but, living in a dangerous neighborhood and ashamed of my surroundings....... I foolishly put him off in my pride. May God forgive me--I could so have used the spiritual sustenance he would have brought me, particularly Holy Communion, Confession and Unction with prayers for healing. .....I am so touched by your concern and offer of prayers for my recovery. I am feeling so much better today than yesterday, even though I need hours and hours of bed rest.........I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, ask you to continue to offer them before God's Throne of Mercy until I am well, and I pray for you all as you pray for me. There is nothing much else I can do right now except to look upward toward Heaven from my sickbed and contemplate Heavenly things--somehow things here on earth pale incompararably in importance for me just now. I have said that our prayers for him will continue and we hope that he will make haste slowly Anhelyna

May Our Lord in His rich mercy visit and heal our brother who is ill.
Lord, in Your mercy visit our brother and raise him up as you raised so many sick and suffering people who showed their faith to You during Your earthly life. Let him return to his family, his faith community, and to us here to praise Your Holy Name all the days of his life. AMEN.
Through the prayers of the Theotokos and of all the saints, O Savior, save us.
In Christ,
BOB

Yes, Steve, that was what I was asking about - I did not understand the little 'senex' under Coalesco's name. Dear Anhelyna, What a beautiful note from Orthodox East that is. It really kind of got to me! But I would hope he might be able to call back the priest ... for a visit. May the Lord heal him, make him well and strong very soon. C of S

Anhelyna, dear sister in Christ, how could I possibly object to much-needed prayer in my behalf?
Thank you for making known my illness here. My thanks and prayers go out to you and yours. Thanks to all of you on this forum for your prayers.
With much love in Christ-God, the only Lover of Man,
OrthodoxEast (John)

Dear John/OrthodoxEast,
Although I keep my cyberspace mouth shut these days, just wanted to let you know that you are my intention for today's "Bohorodychna Lestovka."
Your sinful servant,
Alex
