I was at my Bible study group last Sunday evening and at the end an elderly woman asked us for help. She had been to a retreat that was supposed to be about healing. She told us that the priest who conducted the retreat had focused on dowsing and other occult practices that each one ought to adopt as part of their spiritual life and use not only on themselves but on those around them. She broke down a number of times during her story and told us that she had been afraid to tell our pastor because he recommended this retreat.

About 20 years ago, she said, she had been to another retreat where she had had a spirit channeled into her. She said she had had no knowledge of what it was they were talking about or doing at the time, but that it had done her great spiritual harm since: starting her into a number of years of psychological problems from which she was still recovering. She had hoped that this new retreat would be of help.

Please pray for this woman--Elizabeth--and all others who walk into seemingly Catholic or Orthodox spiritual activities only to be deceived by New Age practitioners.

This is one of those very sad examples of a Priest recommending something - and obviously not having enough information about it. What a shame that someone else suffered - but at least she was able to ask for help.

May she receive healing and comfort from the Father .

May all those in a similar situation be helped as well.

St. Micheal the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil, and may God rebuke him we humbly pray. And do thou, oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Holy God deliver this poor woman and protect all your children from this evil.

May the Lord guard your friend and the friends of all of us who are misled by those to whom they entrust their spiritual care. May He guide them to those who are sent by the real Healer of Hearts.

May the Holy Spirit guide Elizabeth in the right direction and show her the real truth.Greg

Thanks be to God and to the holy, powerful prayers offered by all of you here. I have some good (Godly) news. This morning after Liturgy Elizabeth sought me out and told me that the entire burden she felt under by these bad experiences has left completely. She says she feels like a new person after such a long time.
