Thank you everyone for your prayers that I requested a couple of weeks ago.

I have recieved word that I have been accepted into the pre-novitiate of the Carmelites.

If I can get things to work out I will be in Houston by Sunday August 7th. If things do not work out then I pray that they will let me wait a year.

Please add your prayers to mine in thanksgiving for such a positive result to my long and bumpy vocational discernment and also that thing work out and I am able to start in a couple of weeks.

Hello David,
I pray strongly that God will shadow with His mercy, caring of you on this way of the monastic life. I do not know about the Carmelites order, and what is pre-novitiate, exactly. I know only that is a monastic order.

Also I will enter a monastery, until Christmas, embracing the monastic life.

This Godly word from Matthew 6:33 is very dear to my soul.

May our Lord Jesus Christ, Son and Word of the Living God, have much mercy upon your soul, David. Amen.

If you want, remember me, your far Orthodox brother in Christ, in your prayers. I will name you.

In Christ, brotherly, Marian

Dear David B and Marian:

And I will remember you both today on this day when we are celebrating the Feast of St. James the Great. May the Lord bless you this day and always.

A very dear friend of mine celebrates his 40th year of entrance into monastic life today. He tells me that his desire is still the same today as it was at the beginning: to serve the Lord Jesus in a life consecrated to living out the Evangelical Counsels.

I pray that each of you will be able to say this same thing each day of your lives and be even more dedicated to Him when you reach--by His Gracious Gift--your own 40th anniversary.

In Christ,

BOB

Brother Theophan,

I do thank you heartfully for your beautiful prayer. A greater dedication...but 40 years?! I must say I do not see me living so much. Really...my flesh heart is beginning to be more and more down. Only with the mercy of God.
I will remember you. I wrote on a paper all the names. Is Theophan your baptismal name?

May God have mercy upon us and His will be our bread.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.

Thanks David for remembering these words. They were said two Sundays ago in the Church.

May Most Holy Theotokos cover you with Her mercy, and may our Lord Jesus Christ, Son and Word of the Living God, drop in your soul the dew of His mercy. Amen.

This is the best. God's mercy.

In our Risen Lord Jesus Christ, Marian +

May the Lord God grant to his faithful servants, David and Marian, the gifts needed to respond to their holy call.

May the Mother of God, Mother of Carmel, and Mother of all monks, grant them every blessing as they begin their renunciation, and enter this blessed fellowship.

May all the saints, our ascetic fathers and mothers, help them in this time of preparation for entrance into our community.

Many years!
