Hello friends,

My mentor, good friend, and partner died today. He was a Roman Catholic. He was 55 and died of cancers that had spread all through him. He was a "pioneer" in the field of protection of the elderly and disabled from abuse and exploitation. He was always curious about we "Greek Catholics" and enjoyed a Byzantine prayer book I gave him when first hospitalized about a year ago. "In blessed repose, grant, O Lord, eternal rest to the soul of Your servant, Hank, and remember him forever. Eternal memory." Vicnaja pamjat'. Blazennuj pokoj; vicnaja pamjat. Thank you to all.

May Hank rejoice in the reward of a life of loving care and concern for the vulnerable among us from Him who made Himself vulnerable among us.

May you and all of those who shared in Hank's love and work take comfort in the Love that you share with him even now!

May the Lord receive the soul of His servant, erase his faults and enhance the goodness that he showed to others, especially the elderly.

Eternal memory.

Dear Rick,

My old Latin teacher and mentor, Father Tony Kelly, CSB, died recently and I feel for your great loss.

May St Henry the Emperor and Hank's Guardian Angel bring Hank to the Throne of Almighty God for a good report before the awesome Judgement Seat of Christ!

As an aside, I last saw Fr. Kelly in a wheelchair being taken for a daily walk.

I hadn't seen him in a while, and when he saw me across the street, he waved to me to come over.

I hugged him and told the lady pushing his chair about him.

"Was he any good as a Latin teacher?" she asked.

"The very best!" I replied.

"Come on, Alex, stop that - you haven't changed, have you?"

May God rest both our friends in His Heart!

Alex
