Over the last few days, I have received several emails from Archmandrite Wes Izer about Big John of Anchorage, a frequent poster here at The Byzantine Forum. Big John is in the hospital here in Alaska, and is the Cantor at the St Nicholas of Myra Parish in Anchorage.
Please remember Big John in your prayers this Christmas!

Prayers for Big John's speedy recovery!
We have included Big John (aka St. Nicholas at the St. Nicholas of Myra BCC parish Christmas parties!!) in our prayers and prayer intention list at St. Athanasius BC Mission down in Tulsa, OK.
Apparently Big John's got a problem with a serious infection in his leg.
A better cantor - and St. Nicholas! - you'd be hard-pressed to find.

May the angels whom we join in their hymn of praise intercede for Big John!
May his leg be restored to health and his infection banished so that he will be able to resume his role as singer for the Lord at Liturgy!
