Please pray for eternal rest and peace for LcCpl Daniel Bubb, USMC, who was age 20. He was killed in Iraq after he had just returned there from a brief return to the states to visit family.

His family is devastated and so is the entire community who had prayed so long and so much for him. His passing was a grave loss here. Such a generous and compassionate soul.

Thank you for lifting him in prayer.

As I lay in bed thinking about LcCpl Budd and Sean Ryan that I posted request for prayer, I found myslef starting to get angry again. Saying to the Lord I don't understand all of this, look about the three girls who were beheaded, the missionary priests who were ruthlessly gunned down at their kitchen window while doing dishes....Lord this doesn't make sence. The words that came were those of the Apostle Paul, "Oh, death, where is your victory? Oh, death, where is your sting?"

I knew the Lord had something to tell me through the computer...so I placed the words in search, this article from WND showed up first, it is about 9/11, but I beleive it says it all...

The Father said that in the madness we observed Tuesday "with our own eyes" we saw "the face of evil." In the context of life, evil is the absence of being; it is nothingness. Incidentally, my own pastor made the same point this past weekend when he noted that "evil" spelled backwards is "live." To Father McAfee, Pastor Ron Watts and all of us, evil represents the absence of life: death. That's what we witnessed Tuesday.

But Father McAfee admonished us not to dismiss evil as something. "Evil is someone, Satan." Satan, he said, has been described as "he in whom there is no love." He is "absolute hate. Darkness. Nothing."

Regardless of whether you believe in the reality of Satan (I used not to), you must not miss the point that evil is not an impersonal force. It cannot proceed from an inanimate object. Only personal beings have the capacity for good and evil. As Dr. Ravi Zacharias said, "Evil is always personal, and the one who acts wickedly is responsible."

Also implicit is the notion that good and evil must be comprehended in terms of moral absolutes. Evil is not some nebulous, relative concept. It is real. You and I don't circumscribe what is moral. God already has. Thus, according to the Apostle Paul, we can't excuse ourselves from immoral behavior on the basis of ignorance "since the requirements of the law are written on [our] hearts, [our] consciences also bearing witness."

Father McAfee made many other important points, but, for me, his closing theme trumped everything he had said before and left us with an uplifting message of hope grounded in our knowledge of the transcendent power of life.

"We are people of life. And no terrorist, no matter how powerful, can take that away." Don't you see, in the scheme of an infinite existence, temporal death is swallowed by eternal life. No one can rob us of God's ultimate gift.

How fitting that Father McAfee ended his sermon with the Apostle Paul's taunt to the forces of evil. "Oh, death, where is your victory? Oh, death, where is your sting?"

as the son of Marine who carried a radio on his back on the front during the Korean conflict, rest assured that I am always sensitive to that branch of service losing one of their own. in fact, the only people I care about during a war are our fighting women and men from whatever branch. may the fallen Marine and all of our fighting people who have given the ultimate rest in peace and in Light Perpetual, and may their memory always be held in honor.
Much Love,
Jonn

I'm not Seraphim41, my name is Rick, I'm a Sgt in the Marines, my buddy, Seraphim showed me this of our fallen comrade, for all who have not worn the uniform, what Seraphim said is true, when one Marine is taken from us, part of all of us Marines die with him/her. I'll pass this on to my fellow Marines, I'm visiting my buddy Seraphim and his families. Rest assured my brother Marine and his family is in my prayers, the Marine Corps Birthday is next Thursday 10 November, it is my wish/hope, all who read this on that day, remeber not just our fallen Marines, but also their families and the men and women of our other Military Branches who are serving and who have gone home to God! As the saying goes, "ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL!" Rest in peace my brother!

May all of Daniel's sins be forgiven by our all merciful Lord, and may he be remembered in His Kingdom. May our good Lord bring, through His sweet Mother in Heaven, and all the Saints, consolation to the bereaved.

In deepest sympathy for Daniel's family and friends,
Alice
