Dear Byzcath friends,

One of my family's good friends from college just sent out a note this morning:

Quote
I have news so sad that it is breaking my heart.
Yesterday, my four year old son Joshua Michael died in a car accident in our
church parking lot.
I love that boy so much.
Please pray for our family.
My heart weeps for them. THey are a good Catholic family, very dedicated to living and spreading the faith and the pro-life cause, and the mother is an author of children's books.

Please remember Regina and Andy in your prayers. Life is so fragile - and yet it is all in God's merciful hands.

Lord Have Mercy on the parents and family. Also, the person that accidently hit him, as he/she will live with it the remainder of life.

WISDOM 4
7
But the just man, though he die early, shall be at rest.
8
For the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time, nor can it be measured in terms of years.
9
Rather, understanding is the hoary crown for men, and an unsullied life, the attainment of old age.
10
2 He who pleased God was loved; he who lived among sinners was transported--
11
Snatched away, lest wickedness pervert his mind or deceit beguile his soul;
12
For the witchery of paltry things obscures what is right and the whirl of desire transforms the innocent mind.
13
Having become perfect in a short while, he reached the fullness of a long career;
14
for his soul was pleasing to the LORD, therefore he sped him out of the midst of wickedness.

But the people saw and did not understand, nor did they take this into account.

I am not cetain of how much this helps, but it does give a different look at things.

Prayers for the parents that the Lord will lift the burden of their grief and loss. Memory eternal for the little Joshua.

"O Lord, whose ways are beyond understanding,
listen to the prayers of your faithful people:
That those weighed down by grief at the loss of Joshua Michael may find assurance in your infinite goodness.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen."

Prayers for Regina and Andy and their family in this most trying time.

It is my understanding that little Joshua's fifth birthday would have been a couple weeks away. My prayers will continue through the month as I am sure it will be extremely difficult for the family in the weeks to come when they would have been celebrating his birth to instead be coming to terms with his death.

Andy and Regina are friends of mine, and my heart is breaking since I first heard about this. I hope to go to the funeral tomorrow - please pray for them especially during this time.

Fortunately, both Andy and Regina come from large, faithful Catholic families, and will have much support in their time of grief.
