Dear Friends,
I make no apologies for bringing this to your attention yet again.
Baby Caroline - to refresh your memories, was injured together with her mother in a car crash.
This saga all started in March when I was contacted by a Paediatric Nurse in the States who having read that I was going to Lourdes and would take Petitions with me should anyone so wish.
This came in
<<Do you ever bring back Lourdes water? I work in a pediatric hospital and have several very very sad baby cases. What do you think?>>
Of course I replied and this next message arrived :-
<< When I read your post one particular baby came to mind. She is 11 months old and was involved in a car accident in Feb. Her mother was driving and a truck sprayed wet snow, ice onto her windshield. Mom made a turn and was hit broadside by a truck. She was badly injured and is in one hospital. Her baby is with us, with a spinal cord injury. It is not transected, just 'stretched' but so far no movement. Can you add her to your prayers? I would love to see a good ending to this tragedy. Her name is Caroline. >>
I replied saying that I would see what I could do and in came :-
<<I just know this particular baby was not meant to be a quadraplegic for the rest of her life! It has just begun, for God's sake.>>
Well in April I went to Lourdes and on my return I sent Maureen [ the nurse some little Rosaries each containing a drop of water from the Grotto, and a bottle of water from the Spring in the Grotto for all these babies for which she cares - oh and a few other things as well.
ON June 5 [ now remember the accident was in February] in came this message
<<The baby isn't much better, and its very sad to see her like this.>>
I heard that the package had arrived and in response to a request as to how Caroline and her Mom were in came
<<Caroline's mom is making progress. She's walking on her own now and going to therapy to improve fine motor skills.
Caroline hasn't progressed nearly as much. She's basically paralyzed from her neck down, including her diaphragm which prevents her from taking even one breath on her own. She is becoming more aware and interactive with her facial expressions, etc. but because of her tracheostomy she cannot talk. It is a very sad situation, in need of God's mercy. Right now mom is so mad at God...

I took the Lourdes water and rosary to work yesterday and the grandmother broke into tears.
<sigh> >>
Please friends pray for this child and her Mother - to me the outlook is very poor. Nerve damage should heal/repair itself in about 14 weeks and this little child of God was injured in February almost 4 months ago.
A 1 year old baby should be crawling around [ if not walking] getting into everything and Caroline is lying motionless in a hospital cot with a tracheostomy and attached to a respirator
Please, please, pray for this poor wee baby and her parents.Surely God will listen
Anhlyna [who has tears in her eyes by now]
