My priest has a cigarette addiction. Because of his addiction he has been sick for a year and then got lung cancer.
I was involved in his healing before he got cancer. People in the parish keep giving him cigarettes. It reminds me of someone bringing a keg or beer to an AA meeting.
I need prayers for him. The same priest I worked with will be there again Sunday.

If anyone wants his name please PM me. I won't give his name to anyone who lives in PA or a state that borders PA to protect his privacy.

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

Prayers...

Oh Lord, whose heart was both a resting place and a font of wondrous healing for the Beloved Disciple, John, grant your humble priest healing and comfort in his struggle with addiction and in the affliction of his cancer. Give him the grace of hope in your triumph over the powers of sin and death, perseverence in faith and a fiery, supernatural charity. Through the prayers of the blessed Theotokos and all the saints, we humbly beg you to protect and deliver him from any bodily or spiritual harm!

I was told Fr Shear announced at Christmas that several new lung tumors have been found. He will undergo another round of chemo shortly.
Prayers requested!

Richard,
I heard about him from one of your fellow congregation members at the Uniontown pilgrimage.
I will continue to keep him in prayer. And I shouldn't say this, but no one should be giving him cigarettes.
