Today is the 40th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs, Freedom, and Equality.
Let us pray that the great dream of racial equality that Martin Luther King outlined and prayed for becomes more of a reality in the US and all over the world!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Brian, Not to toot my own horn ( ), but I've organized a number of "Martin Luther King Jr." days at the legislature (also called "Martinsday" up here). And I've worked on legislation to declare his day an official one here with a parliamentarian who marched with him on this day way back when. Good for you! Alex

I think we might want to be a little bit more careful about associating ourselves with Martin Luther King Jr.
He was a staunch supporter of abortion, and promoted Planned Parenthood's agenda of extermination.
I think that invocation of MLK, Jr. as an icon of justice and equality is ill-advised.
Respectfully, LatinTrad

LT,
Dr. King certainly missed the mark on some very important teachings. It is, however, very appropriate and important to remember and praise the good he has done for our society, especially in the area of race relations. To do so is not to suggest he was correct in everything he taught. Some years ago the late Cardinal OConnor of New York spoke of how he believed that if Dr. King had lived that he would grown to embrace the right to life of all people, from conception to natural death.
Let us pray for Dr. King, that the merciful Lord has received him and granted him eternal rest.
Let us pray that his dream, that each individual be judged by the content of his character instead of the color of his skin, become a reality worldwide.

Let us pray that his dream, that each individual be judged by the content of his character instead of the color of his skin, become a reality worldwide. As eloquently paraphrased by the Administrator, Dr. King should be judged, and remembered, for this dream of his. Amen!

Amen! May the Lord lead us all to take our part in the struggle to make the dream real among us. May He grant us the strength to perservere and the courage to stand by the poor and those who are oppressed for any reason.
