Glory to Jesus Christ!

It is my understanding that Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Bridgeport, CT has been closed, at the request of the Chief Shepherd of the Eparchy of Passaic. The announcement was made by the parish administrator during yesterday's Divine Liturgy.

Be mindful, O Christ our God, of our brothers and sisters who are members of this parish family, and especially of those who worked so hard to save their church these last two years; grant that they may have mercy, life, peace, health, salvation and visitation, pardon and remission of their sins; that they may forever praise and glorify Your Holy Name. For You are truly the joy of all those who love You, and we glorify Your eternal Father and Your all holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

In Christ,
Theophilos

Prayers that the parishioners of this parish will not spiritually feel like homeless orphans, but that God will lead them to a new house of worship where they will feel even more at home.

In Christ,

They could go to St. John the Baptist GC (Byzantine) in neighboring Trumbull. Hopefully that will be the case. Another Hungarian parish bites the dust. Prayers and consolation for all the parishioners.

Thank You To whomever started this prayer forum. My understanding is due to the way this was done no one is going to remain with the Ruthenian Church. Those who were going to be "picked off" already went several years ago. There are several who have ties already established with the local latin Churches, there are some who have ties with the local Eastern Orthodox Churches. There is even discussion of several families speaking with the Orthodox Bishops and look into forming an Orthodox Church in the mold of our (yes I was a parishioner of Holy Trinity) former administrator Fr. Orestes Chornak. Please, keep us in your prayers. I know I look forward to beginning anew and not keeping on the "Pray, Pay & Obey" shackles of the Catholic Church.
