Dear Friends,

I would ask your prayers for my diabetic niece who isn't even ten yet, but has been diagnosed with diabetes and must take insulin.

Dear Alex:

My fervent prayers for your niece, who must have Type 1, which afflicts young kids such as her.

It is, indeed, traumatic to parents and other relatives to have so young a child experiencing a heavy burden.

Last year I was hospitalized and was diagnosed with Type 2, fortunately perhaps. I take drugs, not insulin, to help control it from degenerating and from spawning other fatal illnesses such as heart disease and liver and kidney problems.

Now, I watch my diet but I cannot exercise enough.

Dear Amado,

Salama for your prayers and concern, Big Guy!

I too am Type Two Diabetic. Recently, a woman with this diabetes in Ukraine was healed of it and of her blindness as a result of it at the icon of the MOther of God of Pochaiv!

Diet is very important as is exercise.

And I don't count all the running people down, jumping on others, and chasing individuals that I do here! smile smile

Have a great weekend, Servant of Christ!

Alex

Dear Alex:

Is it surprising that both of us have been preoccupied with the same "exercise" lately?

anastasios must be feeling really bad today because of me!

Anyway, one of the reasons why I must be reading posts, like anastasios', so obliquely is because I am experiencing a gradual loss of vision due to this Type 2 diabetes.

I have been forewarned, especially by my wife.

Dear Amado,

I will labour at my Psalter for your health, Servant of Christ!

Don't worry about Anastasios. He can take it.

He gets a little jumpy at times. But that's because he's a married student.

He has to do two types of "homework . . ." smile

Dear Alex,

Of course prayers for your niece.

I'm sure that once she is in control of her diabetes she will , like her uncle, learn to take life in her stride.

May God guide the person who will find the cure for diabetes to do it soon.

May He bring healing to Alex's neice, to Amado and especially his sight, and to all diabetics and other sufferers from chronic illnesses.

Steve
