There is news, but it isn't good. I found a couple more lumps in her breasts last night, one about the size of a large pea. My vet is starting her on Prednisone to see if that will slow down the growth of the tumors. She is still active and doesn't act like she feels bad.
As for me, I am calling my doctor today to see what he's decided about treatment for the anemia. Hope it will work!
Thanks to everyone for your prayers and concern, it means a lot to me. Keep up the good work!
Don

Please update occasionally. You and kitty have been prayed for daily. I have crippled yellow tom cat, though Im not so sure he thinks he is crippled, except when he refuses to use his handicap ramp on the front step.

Rougy is Dwight cat's name. Dwight has a chapel he has built in his home, his prayer room. When his cat gets to feeling really bad, he goes in the prayer room to sleep and doesn't come out. He definately rules the roost in Dwight's home, quit the boss Rougy seems to be!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everyone. Anna continues about the same, except I keep finding more lumps on her belly, but the vet told me to expect that. She's still eating, drinking and playing like normal.
As for me, I'm still not doing very well. Always tired and sleeping a lot, absolutely no energy at all. My renal specialist thinks I may be a candidate for a medication that makes the bone marrow produce more red blood cells, but I have to be evaluated by the drug manufacturer first and then they will contact my insurance company to see if they will pay for treatment. I understand this drug is QUITE expensive, so much so that there is no way I could pay for it if my insurance won't. There is also a good chance that I may not even be able to afford the co-pay. I should find something out next week. Wish me luck and keep up the prayers.
Thanks for everything.
Don

Father Don,
Prayers continue for both you and your little companion, Anna.

Some good news yesterday. I received my first injection of Aranesp, a new treatment for anemia. I will get a shot every two weeks until my hemoglobin gets up to normal, then will probably only need a shot once a month. This medication is very expensive...like $4000 a shot! The good news is my medical insurance will pay for it after I meet my deductable and after I pay another $187 I will have that met! Thank God!!!

Dear Fr. Don:
From someone whose family of 5 is struggling to cover current monthly premiums after the exhaustion of my wife's COBRA benefits last December, I feel the uncertainties that confront you.
I join my prayers for your well-being and for Anna's, too!
Amado
