Hi to Everyone,

A friend just called asking prayer for Fr. Richard
Masin of Tber, Russia, formally Leningrad. He had a massive heart attack. I'm not certain whether
he is still alive or has gone home. He is from
Chicago and has been doing missionary work there in recent years. It is my understanding that
conditions are very hard.

Thank You,
Rose

I'll make sure to pray for Father Masin. I did a quick search on www.google.com [google.com] and I found a page that has his address and e-mail on it (http://www.archart.cz/divine-inspirations/slovensky.htm). So you could write there if you want to, and ask how he is doing.

Hi,

I wanted to thank everyone that payed for Fr. Richard. He lost the battle in this world, but has gone home to Jesus. This is from a friend of ours who worked closely with him for a number of years in Russia. Bill, our friend worked with supplying clothes and such from the USA for the people in Russia.

I understand they had to take him into ICU and he lost the battle there. When the bishop came to see him, Bill said he just sobbed uncontrolably. He has had an impact on so many people.

Our friend also said they have been able to replace him with a priest from Poland so the missionary work will go on.

I just checked out the web site. We have the book which they just gave away, the Bishop from Austraila had them strike a coin for this. Fr. Richard and Bill worked on it togeter.

She was visiting in the US and Bishop Foley let her come to Birmingham. She is a very humble person, her spiritual director was with her, I don't remeber the priest name, very delihtful. The words she spoke let you know about her relationship with the Lord. They were very powerful although she is very soft spoken.

Rose,
We thank You, O Lord our God, Who alone are immortal. Your glory is beyond comprehension, Your love for mankind is beyond expression in words, and Your Kingdom is without end. In You there is no guile, for You have ordained to each person the self-same death. Therefore, we beseech You, O Lord, grant rest in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to Your priestly servant and former co-worker +Richard who departed in the hope of a resurrection and eternal life. As in Your earthly Church, You made him Your laborer, so make him the same in Your heavenly sanctuary. And, since among men, You favored him with a spiritual dignity, so admit him, uncondemned, to the glory of the angels. On earth, You glorified his life, so grant that his departure from life be in the manner of Your Saints the just ones. And include him among all those who have ever pleased You. For You are the resurrection, the life, and the repose of Your priestly servant +Richard, O our God, and we glorify You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever. Amen.
Deacon El
