Please pray for Matthew Ritchey and the Ritchey family. Matthew was in a horrible auto accident last night around 8pm. He is still unconscious.
His skull is broken in two places, an arm is broken also his pelvis, and his face is badly burned from the air bag, he has blood clots forming too.

Matthew is 16, a bright engergetic, well behaved young person who was coming home from work. I understand from my husband that the family is so shook that Gail and Terry(parents) passing out, and Terry is vomiting alot from nerves. He also has a sister and two brothers.

O Holy Father, Phsyician of souls and bodies, You sent your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to heal every infirmity and to deliver us from death. Heal your servant, Matthew, of every spiritual and bodily ill which afflicts him. Comfort his family, especially Terri and Gail and his siblings, in the infite abode of your compassion. Restore him by the grace of your Christ, through the prayers of our most holy Lady, the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, and of all your saints. For you are the Fountain of healing, and we glorify You together with your only-begotten Son, and your Consubstantial SPirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Thank you for your prayers, please continue.

Deacon Stan just returned from the hospital. Some of the swelling is down biggrin . They have been able to remove some of the bandages from his arms, and clean them up. It will be three days before they know how he is going to be. Also, there are three bones broken in his face.

So a long road ahead of Matthew and his family. I will keep you updated.

My children are good friends of Matthew, it has been hard on all the kids in the parish.

May God bless you for your work of charity and mercy for Matthew.

Dear Rose:

Initially, I dreaded to follow this thread but constantly prayed for the well-being of Matthew as we have also a 16-year old son who earned his driver's license last August.

I can vividly recreate in my mind the anguish of your friends when this mishap befell their son. At least I find comfort in my wife's decision to protract our son's handling of the wheel till now and until he reaches 17 (or 18, if we win the battle of wits!)

How's Matthew doing?

Thank you all for your prayers.

I just spoke with Abouna Frank, he said that there is no change. He is still unconscience, however, they are making sure he stays that way now. There is so much swelling in the brain, they apparently have to keep him there so the brain can heal. They have been able to remove some bandages and clean him up, but ultimately there is no change.

PRAISE GOD, THAT IS GREAT NEWS! biggrin

It means he has not gotten worse, thank you Jesus!
I would say your prayers are working.

The family is doing better. Terry, Matthew's father has been able to go in his room now.

Amado,

At least I find comfort in my wife's decision to protract our son's handling of the wheel till now and until he reaches 17 (or 18, if we win the battle of wits!)

We are with you!

Both of our sons are Eagle Scouts, they were so close to finishing, but playing around a lot towards the end. So their dad with held their license too, they didn't get them until they were 17. He told them no Eagle, no license. Though they were not happy at the time, afterwards they were just so thankful. Also, the fact that it gave them incentive to complete the Eagle something they had put so many years toward. And we had a lot less grey hairs. I can only thank God that they were both very obediant well adjusted, all be it stubborn, young men who are now 29 and 20.
~~~~~~~
So I pray that the Good God grant you and your wife continued wisdom and peace to persevere in the direction you are taking. Most Holy Theotokos and St. Joseph, pray for the family that they may always have open communiction where love flows freely through your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ by the power of the life giving Holy Spirit. Amen
Matthew had a rough day. They had to take fluid off of his lungs and run some tests which caused him to be very aggitated.
Thank you so much for the prayers.
