Please pray for God's mercy on the soul of my friend, Kent Metcalf, and for His peace and comfort to Kent's wife, Laura, and their sons, Klint, Kyle and Kody.

Kent was a friend and co-worker of mine from our time in Alaska and had moved to Bartlesville about 9 months after my family and I made the move. He had battled colon cancer for almost 7 years and was loved by all who crossed paths with him in this life.

Kent was a member of the Mormon church. Although we did not share the same faith, I considered it a gift from God to have known the man. As Laura said when my wife, Nancy, spoke with her recently in Kent's last days, she never realized how many lives Kent had touched until the final stages of his battle with cancer.

+Eternal memory,

Sam

O Lord, receive the soul of Your servant, Kent, who has departed from this earthly place to repose in Your Bosom; lead his soul to rest in a place of light, happiness, and peace, where there is neither pain nor suffering, neither grief nor sighing, but only life everlasting. And as You are a gracious God and the Lover of Mankind, forgive him every sin he has committed by thought, or word, or deed, for there is not a man who lives and does not sin, for You alone are without sin and You are the Resurrection and the Life.

Memory eternal.

Holy Theotokos, give comfort and peace to Kent's wife and children in their sorrow at the loss of this man, their husband and dad, whom they loved.

"I know that my Redeemer lives and that He will stand at the latter day upon the earth: and...in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself." (Holy Prophet Job)

May the Lord receive His servant KENT into Paradise forgiving all his sins and passing by all his human imperfections...and restore his image like that of a newly baptized baby!

O Lord remember Your servant KENT...and never forget him!

In His great mercy,
+Fr. Gregory

+Father Archimandrite Gregory, who asks for your holy prayers!
