Dear all:

Glory to Jesus Christ!

I have a good friend, Lori, who's had heart problems from birth. She's had multiple surgeries to try to fix her problems, which have worked for about 30 years. But now, her aorta is deteriorating, and the arteries are not functioning well because of the aorta problem. She will have surgery again to try to correct it, but the chances are not too good in her favor. She's not afraid and is at peace about the whole situation. She knows the Lord will take care of her. Still I ask for your prayers in her time of need.

Thank you,
Gretchen

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.

Henceforth a crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award me . . .

We rebel when we hear of this type of story. We think that everyone should live to the far side of old age--at least 100 or so. But each of us has a built-in self-destruct in the form of some anatomical weakness or genetic predisposition. It is edifying to hear of someone who is at peace with a tough situation--a tough cross to bear--and is able to be at peace with it, knowing that she has a relationship with the One Who conquered Death and made it something to laugh at.

Master, we pray for Your sister by Baptism, Lori, and we celebrate the faith that she has in You. Let her faith be crowned by Your favor and blessing in this surgery. In whatever You allow to happen, keep her close to You always now and ever and unto ages of ages. AMEN.

Take up your Cross and follow me Jesus said, Lori has run the good race, may her life be filled to overflowing with the love of Christ in all things...
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen....

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, for the prayers of Your Most Holy Mother and all Your saints, have much mercy upon Lori, comfort and shine her soul, keep her in faith and hope and love. Amin!

God, have mercy upon Your child, Lori, do not let her, but cover her soul and life with Your peace and unspeakable mercy. Amin!

Most Holy Mother of God, pray for Lori, shadow her with Your mercy, protect her with Your mantle. Amin!
