Please, in your kindness, remember Rev. Theodore Bland, a preacher and father of my colleague and friend Denise. He worked in prison ministry for many years to bring young African-American men (and women) back to the right path. He was diagnosed with bone cancer a while back, and is now close to ending his journey home to the Lord. That the Lord will bring relief from the pain for him, and for spiritual peace for his family and friends.

Lord, have mercy.

Dear Lord for Rev. Theodore Bland may his life be in your order as he approaches the last days of life in this place, that you will receive him with great joy into your kingdom. Grant peace and joy to the family and friends as they celebrate his life, one that has been served for your glory. Jesus we believe in miracles, may there be miracles to glorify You as he goes home from this journey.

May the Lord bless his servant and minister to His people, Theodore. May He grant to him a deep awareness of the love in which he is held. May the Mother of Jesus intercede so that his suffering be little and his reward be quick.

May his daughter, Denise, and his family be strengthened and consoled by the extended family made up of those to whom Theodore brought the message of redemption and health. May she see the hand of God in those, like Dr. John, who comfort her.

Rev. Bland went home to God this afternoon. May the Lord receive His servant and bring him to a place of refreshment, light and peace. And may the Lord also come to his family and instill peace in their hearts.

Lord, be merciful.

May the angels guide him and the saints come out to greet him. May he and all the faithful departed come the fullness of life.
