Dear Marian,

The Philokalia is very popular in North America and many of us are waiting impatiently for the fifth volume to be translated into English (it is in four volumes so far).

Many of us first heard of St Paissy Velichkovsky through "The Way of the Pilgrim."

A Russian scholar recently published his view that the "Pilgrim" in that book was a Ukrainian priest Fr. Arseny Troyerukov who wandered from the Pochaivska Lavra throughout Ukraine and into Siberia.

(I have never been to Siberia, but understand that our Canadian winters are almost as cold!).

God bless you and all our Romanian Orthodox brothers and sisters in Christ!

Alex

Dear, in Christ,

I see that David is leaving on his pilgrimage today, and I know that he is taking all of our prayer intentions, and those of our forum community.

Since he is now en-route, we can close this thread, only praying for a safe journey, and a blessed pilgrimage!

May I also take this opportunity to remind all our good friends about the special character of the "prayer" section of this forum? By custom, it is reserved for prayers, and requests for prayers (sometimes for questions about prayer). Other exchanges are best confined to the "town hall" or other appropriate sections of this place.

With thanks!

the unworthy,

Elias
