I ask your prayers for my family as we are going through some pretty extreme trials at the moment.

I just finished chemotherapy a little over 3 weeks ago, and am having some testing to make sure I'm doing okay. Since I have beaten incredible odds in my cancer struggle...I now appear to be going to "make it" Praise the Lord and thanks to all the prayers that have been offered. I'm still not very well..and have other serious medical issues.

Now my Dad is in the process of being diagnosed with what the Drs think may be esophageal cancer. He has tests and procedures that he is going through in between everything else that's going on (it's been wild!)...he will probably need major surgery and/or other radical treatment.

On top of that, we are away from home right now (in a hotel) staying near the hospital where my 93 year old Grandfather (Dad's Dad) is dying. He will almost certainly be gone in days, and the family is gathering. This is quite emotionally draining for all of us...and yet such a beautiful experience of prayer and intersupport.

My Mom is feeling okay at the moment, but has a medical concern that she has to check out as soon as possible.

And...as little as this seems with everything else going on, I am two weeks behind on one of my online college courses--midterms next week, and I barely understand the subject matter...

We need your prayers...and know you will pray. Thanks so much!
Sarah

We have the names of all your family on our daily prayerlist...and we continue to remember them. May the Lord Who calls us all into a deep and abiding relationship with Him...draw us even closer during these difficult times of illness and physical struggle! May the Most Holy Mother of God be near your family during these days, as 'Comforter of the Afflicted.'

Your brother in the Lord,
+Fr. Gregory

Sarah,

Continuing prayers for your own health, well-being, and success in studies. Prayers too for your Dad's health issues, that his treatment will be both efficacious and as minimally invasive as possible and that God will grant him many years. Prayers also for your Mom, that her health concerns will be resolved.

Prayers that your Grandfather will be at peace and not suffer in these final days before the Lord accepts him.

Many years,

Neil

Dearest Sarah,

First--my sincerest condolences to you and your family on your grandfather's passing. May our Lord take him into Heaven with the righteous.

(I went to my first Jewish funeral this year, and was, actually surprised at how much of what the Rabbi said at the cemetery sounded Christian! )

My prayers for you and your family on the many crosses you are dealing with. May God bless you all, and bring healing and calm to what must seem like a tornado of worldly assaults.

In our Lord, our anchor and our hope,
and through the intercessions of His Most Holy Mother and all the saints who have gone before us,
Alice

May the Lord rest the soul of your grandfather in the bosom of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob...and my he be remembered as a man who kept the covenant well and pleased God by his life! May the Lord remember him forever...and may he see the Lord face-to-face as Moses did...and walk with the Lord as did Adam! Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord...and may he be with YOU forever!

In His great mercy,
+Fr. Gregory
