SLAVA ISUSU CHRISTU!

In your charity, please remember my cousin Shirley and her daughter, Debbie.

Shirley is the one who had all the spinal cord surgery this past summer.

Her daughter Debbie, found a lump in her breast a couple of weeks ago and it is malignant. She will have breast cancer surgery tomorrow morning. Depending on how badly the lymph nodes are affected will determine how radical the surgery will be.

Shirley is under a great deal of emotional stress now with everything happening in her life.

Thanks!

Pan Boh Vam Zaplat!

"Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, (Philippians 4:6-7)

We will remember Shirley and Debbie tomorrow during our Holy Hour. May the LORD Who is physican of our souls and bodies heal them both with His grace and love for them!

Prayers that Saints Luke, Cosmas and Damien will guide the physicians in their assessment and treatment of Debbie's disease. Prayers for Debbie that she does not suffer unduly from the surgery, that the outcome is efficacious, and that postoperatively she will do well and beat this scourge. May God grant her many years.

Prayers to the Holy Theotokos for Shirley, as it not easy to be a mother and our beloved Theotokos knows that better than anyone. Holy Mother, help Shirley to cope with the stress and remain strong for both herself and Debbie.

May the Divine Physician guide the hands of those who work to heal Debbie, and may God's all-encompassing love protect and comfort Debbie and her mother, Shirley.

Hello everyone!

Just a short note to give you all an up-date.

I spoke with Shirley late last night. Debbie came thru the surgery pretty well. They removed the growth and did not have to remove any of the lymph nodes as they were clean. The surgeon said she should be able to have only chemo & radiation. She meets with the oncologist next week.

Thank you all for your prayers, they were much appreciated!!

Shirley also told me that Debbie had been annointed following morning Divine Liturgy on Monday. She said she felt a burning and a tingling move thru her following the annoiting. Shirley and I are both praying that this will be a turning point for Debbie. She hasn't been making the best choices the few months but that's another story....

thanks!

So glad to hear things are looking up. As one who is going through cancer treatments myself, I will plan to keep Debbie and her Mom in my prayers.
