Hi,
My niece was diagnosed today with Guillain Barre Syndrome. She is under going a spinal tap tonight and then a blood cleansing procedure.If they did not catch it in time she could become paralyzed. Tomorrow is her 16th birthday. Please pray for a quick recovery.

Thank you for your prayers. My niece is able to walk and eat on her own now. She will have to go to PT for awhile. Please pray for her mom my sister. She is mad at God right now for what happened to my niece.

Being angry with God has been a very frequent feature during my time of trial, one that my spiritual counsellor has addressed by pointing out that Jesus Himself, in His agony on the cross, expressed similar sentiments in His human nature.
That anger however, gradually becomes mollified and paves the way for hope and resignation. My prayers are with your sis, and especially your niece.

I've been told that Saint Theresa of Avila once told God during a time of trial, "If this is how you treat your friends, it is little wonder that you have so few."
May the Lord grant your sister the wisdom to remember that we sometimes become most angry with those who we love most. May He send His Healing Spirit to lead her to focus on His love for her and your neice and on her love for Him in this time of trial.

Dear Nicky's Baba,
I checked with my daughter to be sure before saying anything. She had an instructor with Guillain Barre Syndrome. He taught her business class in massage therapy school.
The thing that has helped him the most is massage.
He is slowly gaining back some use of his body. One of her instuctors is trained in special massage. My daughter is also a Massage Therapist. She said that is the best way to stimulate the body and increase the functioning of the blood flow, etc.
She said also there is an alternative medical technique called Contact Reflex Analysis. The doctor should be able to analise what is going on in the body and hopefully find an underlying cause. Something they might want to consider.
