Brothers and sisters:

Glory be to Jesus Christ!! Glory be to Him forever and ever!!!

I must ask for your prayers for my wife Loretta. She contracted some type of flu almost two weeks ago. It started with a little sore throat and loss of voice, then turned into a little bit of sinus problem, but within 36 hours became chills and high fever. She's had the chills and fever now for almost ten days and nothing seems to be able to help this thing. She's been to her doctor and nothing prescribed seems able to help either. She's got a deep, raspy cough and hasn't gotten much sleep. She's lost a lot of weight because she can't eat much and being a small woman to begin with she doens't have much room for loss.

I've been praying for her but I know that the people here--together--can do more than I can do alone.

Thank God for all of you in advance and for your generosity in praying.

In Christ,

BOB

Theophan

You're in my prayers. There's something really nasty going around. Last Thursday evening I had chills so bad that for 4 hours, I was wearing a heavy pullover with a jacket over it and buttoned, while inside the house where it was 77 degrees ! I got over the chills yesterday, but my throat is very sore. So many people I know are sick at the moment. Going off to pray for your wife right now.

Dearest Theophan,

My prayers for the quick recovery of your beloved wife Loretta. May God hear our prayers for his servant, and help her get well. May the intercessions of St. Nektarios, the miracoulous healer, also be with her.

On a more earthly note, please make sure that she starts getting as much nutrition and vitamins as she can to help her body fight this virus. Viral infections can only really be fought through nutrition and rest.

Some fresh vegetable and fruit juices would be VERY, VERY helpful, lots of supplemental vitamin C, (up to 2000mgs. is okay), and a multi-vitamin, and REAL home made chicken broth made into any kind of soup...(they don't call it the Jewish penicillin in these parts, for nothing!)

Most of all, don't forget the vegetables, they are God's gifts for good health.

God bless you both,

Your Sister in Christ,
Alice

Dear Bob,

Prayers!

But remember - keep feeding your wife a steady diet of garlic, nature's antibiotic.

You can cut it up into small pieces and serve it on bread and butter.

It will rebuild your wife's immune system - as well echinacea.

So don't just sit there - hop to it! smile

Or you can put the garlic in the water when you boil the chicken for broth... More palatable that way! wink

Theophan, +The LORD bless you! Please send a message to me with your wife's Christian name...so that we can remember her? Although I'm sure the Lord would know who 'Theophan's wife' is...He would probably rather we use the name by which she will be known for all eternity.

Whatever Loretta has, it has held on like nothing she has ever had. Today marks two weeks since she started with this flu and it shows little sign of improvement no matter what she takes or what she tries.

Thank God for each of you and thank you for your prayers and concern.

In Christ,

BOB
