I shall hope and pray that everybody can learn from this and I know in my heart it will lead RC (as well as all other Catholic Churches) to holiness, perfection and be full of G-d's glory.

I think it very short-sighted of you to think that the Byzantine Church has not had its share of scandal. I'm not saying I have some firsthand knowledge, but given the various comments from across the denominational landscape this is a problem that affects all religious groups. At a recent ecumenical conference in Phoenix, the executive director (an ECLA minister) of the statewide ecumenical group was asked if this problem affected other churches as well. When he replied it did, he was then asked why the media has not reported on the child abuse in the other churches. His reply took some courage. He stated the Catholic Church continues to be relevant to the world, and has maintained the Christian moral compass. This of course makes the Catholic Church a prime target for the media when individual members fail.

Now one can agree or disagre with this rationale, but it's hard to disagree that abuse has not occurred in other churches.

Dear Friends,

I think we've said enough and it's not like we haven't dealt with this topic at length before.

I too echo the view that this thread should be closed.
