Between complacency and violent separatism, he found a path of non-violent action characterized by a willingness suffer openly. It was a beautiful and brilliant strategy aimed not at separating from adversaries, or at defeating them; rather it was aimed at changing their hearts and winning them over.

Those of us who are 'baby boomers,' in a sense, grew up with him. As a generation we are honored to say: "We knew Martin."

That's amazing!

And it's even more amazing that the Protestants can birth such great saints of Christ. Yet, to many Catholics and Orthodox, Martin was just a worthless heretic. And so many other 'Martins' were/are just heretics.

What a shame...and how shameful to insult God with such lies.
