I had an interesting conversation with a taxi driver in Jerusalem about 32 years ago. I believe that he was a Palestinian Christian. He observed that since Israel constituted only a few million people and the Arab Muslims constituted hundreds of millions of people that it was only a matter of time that Israel would cease to exist. I couldn't tell whether he was happy about that or simply trying to be realistic.

Perhaps the suggestion that all countries keep hands off and let both sides fight it out until one obliterates the other is the only solution to this situation.

Charbel,

Brian is sarcastic as he sometimes is. I don't propose this but since there seems to be little desire for Christians to allow Jews a place to live in peace what other solutions are being sought?

I would agree with the jews living on palestinian land, but what about the palestinian?
they are trapped in refugee camps in lebanon and syria. I suggest that the jews of palestine would allow the palestinians to live with them instead of bulldozing their houses, leaving them homeless. when a situation reaches this point, i wouldn't care if a person is muslim, christian, or jewish.

Amen, Charbel and I think you got my irony in the response above smile I think a lot of Christians are complacent and conservative in the US and that is very sad.. We really need to be more internationalist in our outlook and yes, HELP!!!! I enjoy your posts!

Charbel,

Forgive me if I gave the impression that supporting any harm is the idea.

What I meant by my post is that many people in the middle east are just normal people that want to have a job and take care of thier family. In America, we do not realize that Muslims are as normal as we are.

We also tend to think that violence is the answer.

I say that Charity and living the Gospel Truth of Christ is the only way. That means living Charity and loving!

Israel as a nation needs to not be solely a jewish state. That is the problem here, if it would accept palestinians as full fleged citizens, give them equal rights and not hinder their employment by giving them strict curfews they'd be content. Carving out separate lands of Palestine and Israel where each group lives separate from the other will never work. There are not enough resources for two small separate countries next to each other, they are going to have to live together and share resources. Thats all that caused the fights is apartheid and prejudice, which I admit I dont fully understand. In 30 years when Israel has majority population of senior citizens it will have to be moslems and christians children taking care of them. Perhaps they will accept peaceful coexistance by that time.

Education is a key without a doubt..there are two few US citizens knowledgeable about other countries particularly the levant. Once again this is what I gain from Eastern Orthodox Catholic Churches. When I talk to enough people with recent ancestry from these other countries I slowly learn how life is there. It helps to have a mother who grew up in Lebanon as well, which I do have.

Hezbollah isn't any friend of the United States.

Hezbollah is a terrorist organization funded by the madmen who run Iran and the Assad dictatorship of Syria. Anyone who claims to be a friend, supporter or ally of Hezbollah is, in my opinion, suspect.

The FBI was investigating some Hezbollah supporters in Dearborn, Michigan in July.

We in the West are at war with Islam and have been for centuries. It's just that a lot of people in the West are too wrapped up in themselves to know it.

I do not live in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, or Turkey so all I know about what goes on is what I can read in the news.

This much I do know, and have posted it here many times. Islam, which overran the formerly Christian Asia Minor, seized Constantinople, attacked Rome, and swept through formerly Christian North Africa, invaded Spain in 711 and in three years nearly overran the entire country. A brave man named Pelayo escaped the invaders, who enslved his sister in a harem, made off to Asturias, and in the Battle of Covadonga, defeated the Moors and was elected King of Spain, holding onto a small strip of land in the north that was never ruled by Islam.

It took 770 years, but Queen Isabella finished the job. Her armies routed the Islamic invaders and reconquered Spain for the Catholic faith.

King Jan III Sobieski and his Polish Hussars defended Vienna in September 1683, routing the Islamic invaders and beginning the long, slow decline of the Ottoman Empire.

They showed the example for dealing with Islam, which, in my opinion, does not deserve to be classified as a religion.

Read this from a former Romanian intelligence officer about Moscow's ties to radical Islam:
