Although I'm a mid-elder,wish I could remember the quote some where in Sirach...gray hair + age does not always = wisdom... And Dr. Eric is correct...my lips are stitched closed regarding the Novus Ordo here...though they do pain alot... this incident is extreme in nature and required comment...I'm abit curious on what & if any real "fallout" happens... PAX james

It praises old age. 4 How becoming to the gray-haired is judgment, and a knowledge of counsel to those on in years! 5 How becoming to the aged is wisdom, understanding and prudence to the venerable! 6 The crown of old men is wide experience; their glory, the fear of the LORD. 7 There are nine who come to my mind as blessed, a tenth whom my tongue proclaims: The man who finds joy in his children, and he who lives to see his enemies' downfall. 8 Happy is he who dwells with a sensible wife, and he who plows not like a donkey yoked with an ox. Happy is he who sins not with his tongue, and he who serves not his inferior. 9 Happy is he who finds a friend and he who speaks to attentive ears. 10 He who finds wisdom is great indeed, but not greater than he who fears the LORD. 11 Fear of the LORD surpasses all else. its possessor is beyond compare.

Alexandr, only slightly tongue in cheek. Encyclicals in 99.9987% of the cases don't contain infallible dogmas, so they can be "overturned." But, I'm sure I have a lighter somewhere in my house if you are supplying the wood! BTW, I searched the website and this is a legitmate Mass in OC. The space is temporary until they get a church building. Check my earlier posts.

Alexandr, only slightly tongue in cheek. Ah, to hear once again those sweet words "anathema sit!". I'll provide the lighter fluid. Dn. Robert

Just for the record, Generation X cares about restoring tradition just as much as the Baby Boomers and Generation Y. Which is to say that no one cares anymore about tradition. Those who do are few and far between. Everyone's time is already taken up by their iPods, TVs and other distractions. People don't even come to Church except on Christmas, Easter and Ash Wednesday! (Just feeling a bit pessimistic. )

Alexandr, only slightly tongue in cheek. It is not for me to defend Exsurge Domine, of course, but for the record, it does not call for heretics to be burned. It condemned 50 or so of Martin Luther's propositions, one of which was to claim that burning heretics was against the Holy Spirit. Exsurge Domine condemned his claim (along with many others). Perhaps this is too subtle a distinction? But it is somewhat different from actually asking for them to be burned. Elias

What we really need to do is to band together, forcibly overthrow the government of Minnesota, and declare an independent Orthodox nation of Pravoslavnaya, with closed borders, so that those Orthodox, both eastern and western will have a homeland of their own! We can steal the battle cry from the Jews, Never again! Nikogda snova!

Boil, boil, toil and trouble...
This is more nauseating than when the girl in the Exorcist vomits on the priest. (Personally I don't like that movie - too boring - but you get the idea).
This makes the mamba masses in the local Roman cathedral look reverent.
I'm not joking when I say, this literally makes me feel sick.
Me thinks it's not the holy spirit there, but another spirit in disguise (pun intended).

[/QB] The way I look at it, it would be several years before anybody noticed that Minnesota was missing, and by that time we would be well established. Besides, there are 1000's of lakes to build sketes next to in the pine forests. Alexandr

Wondering you correct...my "old" mind confused it with a quote in Cassian's conferences from Abbot Moses...guess that happens when one is reading too many books at the same time.
