I found the link below which is the Web site of the Arian Catholic church. These people (probably one or two) are incredible. Warning: this is a veritable treasury of heresy. Modern day Arians who like the Tridentine Mass!

They pronounced an anathema on St. Nicholas!!! eek

And they deny the Virgin Birth and the Resurrection.

Oh yeah, they "canonized" Arius.

I just LOVE that at the bottom of their page they link to further resources including several online Bible websites, Catholic Answers, NewAdvent, the Antiochian Orthodox, the Anglicans, the Sedevacantists, and the Unitarians.

Just for kicks, I looked up what their suggested resource of NewAdvent [newadvent.org] had to say about them. First line:
A heresy which arose in the fourth century, and denied the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

Apparently it didn't get off the ground all TOO well as the Arian website says this:
On Wednesday 22nd February 2006, the feast of the Chair of St Peter, the Holy Catholic and Apostolic (Arian Catholic) Church, with the aid of three Bishops (Episcopates) sympathetic to Arian Catholicism, consecrated its first Bishops since the Visigoth Bishops (consecrated by Ulfilas the Arian Bishop of Dacia in the mid fourth century) who preached Arianism until the end of the sixth century; since then Arian Catholicism has had to remain underground.

Riiiight. Underground. That's it.

Seems like these "arians" are just another sideshow of the "anglicans" but I have always wondered just what form of worship the historical Arians like those Germanic tribes in Europe or Arians in the East practiced? I believe that the Arians were known for their antiphonal singing and they must have had some form of the Liturgy if not the same Liturgy if they were some of the most successful missionaries among the Germanic tribes to have been the first to introduce Christianity to these people.

Weren't the Arians just Copts gone wrong--using the Liturgy of Alexandria but having a theology that didn't fit the liturgical expression they used?

Seems to me, too, that the Arians greatly influenced Mohammed. Or am I confused

Dear Bob,

The only thing I know is that the Muslims claim they were the Arians, the original inhabitants of Spain. You know they want Spain back.

The Arian Creed:

I BELIEVE IN ONE GOD,
Creator of Heaven and earth,
And of all things visible and invisible.
And in his Spiritual Son, Jesus Christ,
Whom was born of Mary and Joseph,
Was not consubstantial nor co-eternal with God the Father almighty,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died, and was buried.
On the third day His Spirit was resurrected.
He ascended into Heaven,
And sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty.
Whence he shall come again to judge the living and the dead,
Of whose Kingdom there shall be no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the Spirit,
And life everlasting.
Amen.

OK. Enough heresy for one month. Lets pray for this group and try to concentrate on threads that build up the Church.
