Well those trips to Alabama have "paid off" and we're moving to northern Alabama. Oh boy. Now we have to sort through our belongings, think about packing and sell our current home. Prayers would be appreciated. biggrin

Yay! Alabama and Georgia are the two greatest states in the Union...can you tell I'm "part Alabamian" and also a citizen of the State of Georgia? wink

Just be prepared for really friendly, Christian people to bring you homewarming gifts like food and such!

Prayers!

Thanks everyone. Wow just the idea of selling this house and packing everything we own ... just wow. It is a daunting task.

I may need a food taster. If for no other reason than to avoid gaining weight.

Sadly we'll be about 75 miles from St. George. Close enough for a visit but not nearly close enough to attend on a regular basis.

Dear Carole,

Take one day at a time, otherwise your nerves will be frayed.

I still haven't recovered from our move . . .

As for the South, I once read this on a car down your way:

"American by birth - Southern by the Grace of God!"

Did you know that "Dixie" refers to the French bank in New Orleans that has "Dix" written on its walls and continued to print "Dix" ten dollar notes? Yep, that's what "Dixie" is all 'bout!

When General Robert E. Lee (yep, I'm standin' up as I write his name) heard "I wish I was in Dixie" for the first time, he had no idea what it was all about at the time!

Yep, you betcha . . . smile

Cheers y'all!

Alex

Interestingly enough, "Dixie" was composed by a Yankee, apparently with little knowledge of proper grammar (using "was" for "were")...but not that surprising! wink

Anyway, Carole, at least you'll be closer to the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville. I would make use of everything EWTN has to offer up there, if I were you.

Dear Carole,

I pray that your move will be a good one, a healthy one, a safe one, and an enlightened one.

I pray that you will sell your house quickly and at a price satisfactory to you.

I pray that your new life and your new home will be blessed with all good things.

Wishing you all physical and emotional strength in this daunting task of moving! smile

Don't over stress yourself in that southern humidity and keep in touch.

With much love in Christ,
Alice smile

Oh, wow, Carole! I really know how it is because we bought a new place in the city (45 miles from here) in June...been renovating, cleaning, rebuilding, remodeling, decorating, yardwork, etc. and driving back and forth for the past two months. And have our old house now up for sale...hope to be relocated (furniture and kitties)into the new house (city) and leaving the old house(country) by the end of this month when the dust should settle again for a few more years. smile And also praying that we get a buyer soon for this house.

My prayers for you even as I ask for them myself.

Peace and blessings,

Mary Jo
